澳大利亚悉尼大学招聘博士后 The School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Sydney, established in 1946, offered the first university-level chemical engineering program in Australia. The School is research-intensive and considered a world leader in many cutting edge areas of chemical and biomolecular engineering. An exciting research position for a chemical engineer is available in a project to develop a research reactor for the investigation of conversion of biomass to fuels and chemicals using hot compressed water at temperatures up to the critical point. The project contributes to the Australian National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS), providing fundamental support for the development of a biorefinery pilot plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, construction and operation of a small, flexible plant to process biomass under a wide range of temperatures and pressures. Laboratory experience with experimental reactors is essential and specific experience with experiments at high temperatures and pressures is desirable. Experience with relevant instrumental analytical techniques, such as HPLC, NMR and GC/MS, will be advantageous. A commitment to excellence in research is essential, as is the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. A PhD degree in a relevant area is essential for appointment at Level B; the opportunity exists for an appointee at Level A to enrol concurrently for a PhD degree. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to bring fundamental understanding to bear on innovative, practical approaches to energy and environmental problems. This project is part of a strong existing collaboration between Professor Brian Haynes in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Professor Thomas Maschmeyer, Federation Fellow in Chemistry. They combine their respective research interests in highly integrated process plant and in developing st
