I dig that beat. 　　音乐可以陶冶性情，当你听到轻快的音乐，心情也随之轻松开朗，甚至跟着节奏起舞，如果你喜欢某种节拍，可自我形容说：I dig that beat.（我喜欢这个节拍）。或者说：I feel the beat.（我感受那节拍）。如想叫别人跟随节拍，英文可以说：Move to the beat，而 Tap your feet to the beat.则是‘用脚随节拍轻叩’。

　　‘喜欢’还有一个颇有趣的说法：to have a soft spot for，直译是‘对……有弱点’，例如：(1) I have a soft spot for Chinese folk songs.（我特别喜欢中国民歌）。(2) We have a soft spot in our hearts for our youngest son.（我们特别喜欢最小的那个儿子）。留意soft spot一般用单数形式，而这成语常带‘爱得有点合理’含义。
　　Beat是‘节拍’。They danced/tapped their feet/clapped their hands to the rhythmic beat of the drum.是‘他们随着鼓声的节奏跳舞/用脚打拍子/拍手’。Miss a beat即‘漏了一拍’，例如：An accomplished ballet dancer, she did not miss a single beat.（她芭蕾舞技纯熟，没有跳漏一个节拍）。
　　心脏跳动当然也有节奏，所以‘心跳’叫heartbeat，例如：His heart had an irregular beat（他心律紊乱）。要说心脏跳得剧烈，可以夸张一点：My heart is pounding.（我的心在狂跳）。Pound有‘猛力撞击’的意思。有时，由于紧张或害怕，心跳都好像停顿了一下，那也可用miss a beat来说，例如：The thief's heart missed a beat when a cop stopped him（那小偷被警察拦住，心里发毛）。
